State Govt trying to provide relief to NGT rule’s affected people

Shimla, Dec 2 – Himachal Pradesh Government looking for ways to provide relief to the people affected by the National Green Tribunal rulings. This was stated by the Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj here today while reviewing the progress meeting of development works of the department.
The department is looking for ways to provide relief to the people affected by the NGT’s rulings regarding the number of floors in the planning areas. The government has decided to approach the High Court seeking relief. “I will review the progress and the matter will be expedited,” he added.
The Minister said Shimla Smart City Limited will give a presentation about the ongoing projects and the targets set for the next six months. Besides this, the urban development department will give schemes wise status reports and the targets for the next six months.
Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, in a statement, said the meeting would be held to review the schemes run by the Urban Development and TCP departments. The Minister said that a different approach has been adopted for different schemes.
“Every scheme will be monitored and status will be reviewed fortnightly,” he said.
The Minister said Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana National Urban Livelihood Mission(DAY-NULM), Rajiv Awas Yojna (RAY), Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors Aatma Nirbhar Nidhi (pmsvanidhi), Swachh Bharat Mission are the ambitious schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The State Government headed by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur is determined to successfully implement these schemes. I will review them on fortnightly basis from now onward and the departments have also been asked to come up with a six months target plan,” said the minister.
The Minister said the State Government has rolled out Mukhya Mantri Shahari Ajeevika Guarantee Yojana—along the lines of Urban MNREGA. “This could be an urban form of job guarantee scheme. So far, more than 2,500 people have been given employment in 54 urban local bodies,” he added.
