Shimla, October 1: St. Thomas’ School in Shimla actively participated in the “Swachh Bharat Swachhta Pakhwada” campaign organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The campaign aimed to create awareness among students about cleanliness and hygiene, aligning with the ongoing “Swachh Bharat” cleanliness drive initiated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The Swachhta Pakhwada activities at St. Thomas’ School took place from September 15, 2023, to October 1, 2023. On October 1, 2023, a Swachhta pledge ceremony was organized, in which all members of the Yuvatourism Club, NCC Cadets, the school principal, Vidhupriya Chakravatry, and the school staff participated wholeheartedly.

During the campaign, various activities were conducted to engage and educate students about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. These activities included poster making, slogan writing, and demonstrations of cleanliness and hygiene practices. Additionally, a spirited rally was organized, led by students and supported by school staff members, including Mr. Salig Kumar, Mr. Tarun Sharma, and Mr. Purshotam Singh.

The active participation of St. Thomas’ School in the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign reflects the school’s commitment to fostering a culture of cleanliness and spreading awareness about the significance of maintaining a clean and hygienic environment. This initiative aligns with the larger goal of the “Swachh Bharat” mission to build a cleaner and healthier India.
