Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania Donates Medical Equipment Worth ₹8 Lakh to PHC Sihunta

Chamba (Chuwari), Jan 29, 2026: Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania on Wednesday donated medical equipment worth around ₹8 lakh to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Sihunta under the aegis of AmeriCare India Foundation.
Thanking the foundation for its support, the Speaker said such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening healthcare facilities in rural areas. He added that the foundation is also contributing towards improving the basic infrastructure of the health centre.
Addressing the gathering, Pathania said continuous efforts are being made to strengthen healthcare services across the Bhattiyat Assembly constituency. The government’s priority is to ensure quality medical facilities reach rural and remote areas so that people can access better healthcare locally.
He highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state government has taken historic steps in the past three years towards the expansion and modernisation of health services. Several posts of medical officers and support staff have been filled on priority, and more appointments will be made under the National Health Mission.
The Speaker assured residents of round-the-clock health services and informed that construction of an additional 50-bed building at Community Health Centre Samot is underway at a cost of about ₹21 crore. He also announced that building works for PHCs at Mail and Chuhan have received budget approval and will begin soon.
Earlier, Chief Medical Officer Dr J.S. Bhardwaj welcomed the Speaker and briefed attendees about the healthcare services being provided in the region.
