Solan Public School Marches in Pink to Celebrate International Women’s Day
2 min readSolan, March 09 : In honor of International Women’s Day, Solan Public School orchestrated the Pink Walk, a spirited event now in its fifth iteration, held on March 9, 2024. The school’s enthusiastic participation marked a new initiative for Solan, resonating with the theme of this year’s Women’s Day, “Count Her In: Invest in Women.” The theme delved into providing women equal opportunities to progress and advocating for investments in their growth.
The Pink Walk commenced at 7 a.m. from the old DC office under the leadership of the school’s administrative director, Mrs. Preeti Kumar. The event garnered support from Solan Police and Administration. Teachers, parents, students, and citizens of Solan joined hands, marching with banners, chanting slogans, and advocating for women’s empowerment. The walk spanned from the old DC office to the school premises.
Mrs. Preeti Kumar, Director of the School, stated that the objective of the Pink Walk is to bring women forward in every field and raise awareness among the public. The event received support from Solan Police and Administration. Dr. Swati Bindal, Co-founder of Apex, an esteemed guest and chief speaker for the event, shared insights into women’s health. She extended Women’s Day greetings and shed light on the need to prioritize women’s well-being.
The school students presented a colorful program, and refreshments were provided by the school as a gesture of camaraderie. Solan Public School, in alignment with the International Women’s Day theme, strives to instill a sense of empowerment and equality among its students, promoting a vision where women are active contributors to every sphere of life.
