Solan Police Engage Students to Combat Drug Abuse

Solan, October 14, 2025 — Solan Superintendent of Police, Gaurav Singh, emphasized the importance of community participation in keeping youth away from drugs during a program at Rajkiya Senior Secondary School, Sultanpur. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about substance abuse and promote sports, NCC, NSS, and overall health among students.
Speaking to the students, Singh said the campaign seeks to strengthen students’ resolve, making them ambassadors against drug abuse while safeguarding the younger generation. He highlighted that Solan Police are actively combating drugs, with officers adopting individual schools to ensure regular engagement and awareness.
Singh urged school management and parents to encourage students in sports and creative activities for holistic development. He also encouraged students to openly share concerns with the police, emphasizing that timely information can save lives. Teachers were requested to monitor students’ behaviour and report any suspicion of drug involvement to help the campaign succeed.
As part of the initiative, Solan Police adopted Rajkiya Senior Secondary School, Sultanpur, and officers maintain continuous dialogue with students. In collaboration with Act Human NGO, 45 sports kits and related equipment were distributed to the students to promote healthy extracurricular activities.
