2 min read

Shimla, July 28 – Ratan Singh Pal, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Solan district, stated that the recent Lok Sabha elections in Solan’s five assembly constituencies have revealed the public’s dissatisfaction with the current government and Congress party. Pal highlighted that even prominent Congress leaders failed to secure their own booths, reflecting a significant shift in public sentiment.

Pal criticized the government for closing around 200 functioning offices in the district, including BDO offices, PHCs converted to CHCs, schools, and other offices established by the previous government to meet public demands. He questioned the basis for these closures and accused the government of failing to introduce any major development projects in the district over the past year and a half.

The BJP leader pointed out that the party secured a historic lead in all five assembly constituencies of Solan, with Arki leading by 15,484 votes, Nalagarh by 15,164 votes, Doon by 13,082 votes, Solan by 5,016 votes, and Kasauli by 3,360 votes, totaling a lead of 52,106 votes. Pal argued that this clearly indicates the public’s disenchantment with the Congress government.

Pal criticized the state of development in the district, highlighting the poor condition of roads, water supply issues, and the lack of any new infrastructure projects. He stated that residents in Solan receive drinking water only once every seven days, and many areas still suffer from severe water shortages. He also mentioned that landslides from the 2023 natural disaster have not been cleared, further highlighting the lack of road maintenance.

Pal addressed the deteriorating law and order situation in the district, pointing out that even senior Congress leaders have criticized the government’s handling of crime. He alleged that the government is protecting criminals and acting with a sense of revenge. Pal also raised concerns about the widespread drug and alcohol mafia activity in the district, accusing the government of providing them with protection.

The BJP leader accused the government of failing to provide land to those displaced by the 2023 natural disaster and criticized the selective distribution of relief funds. He highlighted the severe impact of illegal mining on the district’s rivers and mountains and accused the government of allowing these activities to flourish.

Pal concluded by warning the government that if it continues to neglect public issues, the BJP will launch a public awareness campaign against it. He emphasized the significant loss faced by industrialists due to frequent power cuts and the government’s inaction in addressing these concerns.
