Sirmaur district registers 50 cases of Dengue:CMO

Sirmaur, Oct 2 – Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh witnessing an outbreak of Dengue according to the district health officer 50 cases were registered so far.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ajay Pathak informed that fogging is being done in Nahan and Paonta cities to deal with dengue.
At the same time, the district disaster Management authority has been directed to conduct fogging of insecticide in all villages where dengue cases are being reported.
He said that a public awareness campaign is also launched in the area to educate the masses to not allowed stagnation of rainwater. Every day new cases of dengue are being registered in district Sirmaur, due to which there is a stir among the people.
CMO said that around 17 cases of dengue are reported in the district every day. There has been a steady increase in cases in the last three-four days. All these cases have been received from Nahan city and surrounding areas.
At the same time, the health department has become alert about the increasing cases of dengue. The department has given instructions to conduct dengue tests on fever patients in all the hospitals in the district. In the state, Solan and Bilaspur districts are also affected by the dengue cases as cases are reported for the last two years.
The prolonged monsoon rain and waterlogging in three distinct are the main causes of dengue however Scrub Typhus is a seasonal epidemic in the state.
