Solan, August 12 — Shoolini University strengthened its stand against ragging by holding an Anti-Ragging Awareness Session and Oath-Taking Ceremony during Anti-Ragging Week celebrations. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about the physical, emotional, and legal consequences of ragging while promoting values of respect, empathy, and inclusivity in campus life.
Dr. Neeraj Gandotra, Associate Dean Student Welfare, addressed the gathering, emphasising that ragging is a punishable offence and against the institution’s ethos. He urged students to foster healthy relationships between seniors and juniors and to ensure a safe, respectful environment for all. Students were briefed on university policies, preventive measures, and strict disciplinary action against offenders.
Through interactive discussions, students shared their perspectives on creating a harassment-free campus. The event culminated in a collective Anti-Ragging Oath, where students pledged to never indulge in ragging, report incidents promptly, and support peers in distress.
Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla stated that a safe learning atmosphere rooted in trust and dignity is essential for academic growth, and this pledge reflects the university’s unwavering commitment to that vision.
