Shoolini University Hosts National Law Fest 3.0: Bridging Legal Theory and Practice

Shoolini University’s Centre for Clinical Legal Education (CCLE) under the Faculty of Legal Sciences successfully hosted the National Law Fest 3.0, a three-day event aimed at enhancing practical legal training for law students. The fest, held from December 1-3, 2024, attracted over 100 delegates from renowned law colleges and universities across India, providing an engaging platform to integrate theoretical legal knowledge with real-world applications.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Nandan Sharma, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences, Shoolini University. Advocate Rajeev Chauhan, Professor of Practice at the university, conducted a session to guide participants on the rules and regulations governing the competitions, setting a focused tone for the fest.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Preeti Saxena, Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh National Law University, delivered an address encouraging law students to uphold ethics and pursue continuous learning in their professional journeys.
The Guest of Honour, Advocate Peeyush Verma, Senior Advocate and President of the Himachal Pradesh High Court Bar Association, shared insights on the role of law students in addressing societal challenges, emphasising the need for intellectual rigour in an era of advancing artificial intelligence.
Pro-Chancellor Shoolini University, Mr. Vishal Anand, highlighted the importance of such platforms in helping students gain exposure to real-world legal scenarios and fostering engagement with seasoned professionals.
The fest featured several competitions, including Moot Court, Crime Scene Investigation, PIL Drafting, Blog Writing, Case Commentary Writing, and Legal Opinion Writing. Renowned judges, advocates, academicians, and forensic experts evaluated the participants’ performances.
The Moot Court Competition was won by Asian Law College, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, while Mangalatyan University, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, secured the runner-up position. Saveetha School of Law, Tamil Nadu, received recognition for the Best Memorial, and Manipal University, Jaipur, was named Best Speaker.
In the Crime Scene Investigation Competition, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, emerged as the winner, demonstrating exceptional investigative skills. Amity University, Punjab, took the runner-up position with their systematic approach to problem-solving.
The Blog Writing Competition was won by KIIT School of Law, Odisha, for their well-researched and articulate entry. Osmania University, Hyderabad, claimed the runner-up position for their insightful submission.
Chandigarh University, Chandigarh, secured the top spot in the Legal Opinion Writing Competition, with Auro University, Gujarat, earning the runner-up position for their precise and practical analysis.
The PIL Drafting Competition was dominated by B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Haryana, whose petition showcased strong drafting skills. O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonepat, followed as the runner-up with an impactful submission.
In the Case Commentary Writing Competition, Integral University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, emerged victorious, delivering a detailed analysis of complex legal issues. Jharkhand Rai University, Jharkhand, claimed the runner-up title for their structured and insightful commentary.
Dr. Renu Pal Sood, Convener and Director of the Centre for Clinical Legal Education, presented a detailed report on the three-day fest, acknowledging the contributions of participants, judges, and organisers. She also commended the dedication and enthusiasm of the students involved.
The event was concluded with the vote of thanks by Advocate Rajeev Chauhan, he expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organisers who contributed to the success of National Law Fest.
