Shoolini University hosts ICTSBC International conference on biodiversity conservation and sustainable development

The School of Biological and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science at Shoolini University, in association with the Zoological Society of India (ZSI) and the Indian Science Congress Association Chandigarh Chapter, is organising a two-day International Conference on “Technological Advancements for Sustainable Development towards Biodiversity Conservation (ICTSBC 2024)”. The conference is being organised to mark a significant stride towards addressing the challenges of biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
The conference was inaugurated today by Prof. R.C. Sobti,  along with  Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla, Pro-Chancellor Mr. Vishal Anand, Director Planning Shoolini University Prof. J.M. Julka,  Registrar Shoolini University Prof. Sunil Puri, and other dignitaries. In his inaugural address Prof. R.C. Sobti, the former Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University, emphasised on  the critical need for biodiversity conservation and sustainability.
Prof. Dheer Singh Director, ICAR-NDRI, Karnal, India Chief Guest of the conference addressed the gathering and shared his thoughts on Cross-kingdom Communication and Epigenetics, followed by unveiling of program book/Souvenir.
Vice Chancellor, Shoolini University Prof. Atul Khosla emphasised the role of artificial intelligence and delivered a beautiful message that “Science and success without values have no meaning”.
 Prof B.N. Pandey President, ZSI addressed the gathering and explain the importance of biodiversity conservation for food security, health security, and energy security.
Prof. V. Laxmi Saxena Former President, Science Congress Association highlighted the role of innovation and technology in biodiversity conservation.
Chancellor, Shoolini University Prof. P.K. Khosla shared the objectives of the conference and highlighted the significance of quality research over quantity, interrelated science, spiritualism and yoga.
Prof. Kamal Jaiswal General Secretary, ZSI awarded the Life Time Achievement Award to Prof. P.K. Khosla and Prof. R.C. Sobti. Prof. R.C. Sobti announced the names of honoury Members Dr. Dheer Singh, Prof. B.N. Pandey, Prof. Ashok Saxena, Prof. J.S. Bansal, Prof. V. Laxmi, Dr. Kamal Jaswal, Dr. V. Vasudev, Dr. I.K. Pai, Dr. Fayaz Ahmed, Dr. M.C. Sidhu of Himalayan forum for Science and Technology.
In the plenary sessions Dr. Dheer Singh presented his groundbreaking research on Moo-vesomes and the potential of milk exosomes in drug delivery and diagnostics. Dr. Anand N. Singh, from Panjab University,  highlighted the  importance and significance, of biodiversity and  its imperative  conservation.
Participants from various universities across India presented their research, fostering a multidisciplinary dialogue on sustainability and conservation. The first day concluded with a cultural extravaganza, featuring performances by Shoolini University students, celebrating the rich heritage of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
