Shoolini Spreads Hope on Suicide Prevention Day

The Centre of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Shoolini University observed World Suicide Prevention Day with a series of impactful activities aimed at spreading awareness on mental health and the importance of timely intervention.
The day began with competitions in slogan writing, poster making, and poetry, drawing over 60 enthusiastic student entries that reflected creativity, sensitivity, and commitment to the cause. Ribbon badges were distributed across the campus as a symbol of solidarity, while volunteers actively engaged with peers and faculty to encourage open conversations around mental health.
Chancellor Prof. Prem Kumar Khosla lauded the efforts of the participants during his visit, appreciating the role of youth in shaping a more empathetic and informed society.
In the evening, an awareness walk drew more than 100 students, featuring street plays at key locations including Pine Court, Reception Block A, and The Mall. Flashcards with preventive information were distributed, and slogans echoed across the campus and city streets, urging collective responsibility in addressing suicide prevention.
The walk concluded at Children’s Park, Solan, where participants gathered for refreshments, marking the end of a day filled with advocacy, dialogue, and action.
