Solan, August 8, 2025:
In a pioneering move to elevate the role of reading in higher education, Shoolini University has joined hands with Kunzum, a celebrated chain of community-centric bookstores in Delhi-NCR, to introduce a distinctive academic offering — a Minor in Reading Culture and Literary Studies.

The formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Dr. Ashoo Khosla, Chief Learning Officer at Shoolini University, and Mr. Ajay Jain, Founder of Kunzum, marking a transformative step in integrating literature into mainstream academics.

The 12-credit programme, comprising four intensive courses, will expose students to 36 curated books, interactive author sessions, and community reading activities. Graduates will earn a joint certificate from Shoolini and Kunzum, and be eligible for Kunzum’s Level 3 “Bachelor’s in Reading” credential — a unique literary accolade in India’s academic landscape.

Dr. Khosla emphasized that this collaboration merges academic excellence with cultural engagement. “It’s about shaping reflective and articulate minds,” she noted.
Ajay Jain added, “Kunzum isn’t just a bookstore — it’s a cultural movement. With Shoolini, we’re making reading deeply personal and socially impactful.”

Beyond coursework, the partnership will foster a rich literary ecosystem, including co-hosted literature festivals, author panels, and creative writing workshops, encouraging students to explore literature beyond traditional boundaries.

This alliance not only enriches student experience but positions Shoolini as a national trailblazer in literary-driven education.
