Shoolini Fair Scam Surfaces in Himachal, Demands Probe: Chetan Bragta

Shimla, June 8, 2025:
BJP spokesperson Chetan Bragta has accused the Congress-led Himachal government of shielding a fresh corruption case linked to the Shoolini fair in Solan. Addressing the media, Bragta alleged that fake donation slips—numbering around 1,200—were printed and used to illegally collect money from vendors and the public under the guise of organizing the state-level Shoolini Mela.

The alleged scam surfaced at Nalagarh police post, with the involvement of a Depot holder and a Food Inspector who reportedly provided an original slip to forge duplicates. The fake receipts even contained a scanned signature and Solan DC’s email ID, raising serious concerns. Bragta questioned why the printing press’s name was omitted from the slip, casting suspicion on its role.

Highlighting the deepening corruption under the current regime, Bragta said, “Since the Congress came to power, corruption has only worsened. Even government officers have lost their lives in related scandals.”

The BJP has demanded a strict and impartial investigation, urging the state government to take action against all involved, including officials, and ensure that no evidence is tampered with.
