Shoolini celebrates Samvidhaan Diwas

Solan, Dec 3 – School of Law, Shoolini University, organised its first legal conclave to celebrate “Samvidhaan diwas” today.
The chief guest at the event Mr. Suresh Bhardwaj, Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Urban Development, Himachal Pradesh, spoke about the history of justice and importance of democracy in India. He underlined the contributions of the father of constitution. Dr B R Ambedkar and said that it was important for all of us to follow the directive principles of the constitution. “For fundamental rights we must also not forget our fundamental duties as citizens”, he added.
Bhardwaj compared Indian constitution with constitutions of other countries and highlighted the salient points of our constitution. He also spoke about one India and the dream of PM Narendra Modi to make it the leading country in the world.
Guest of Honour, Dr. Sanjay Sindhu, Director, UILS, HPU, Shimla spoke about fundamental rights, constitution, and history of Indian democracy. He said that the “Indian constitution holds a special place among the constitutions of other democratic nations and we all should be proud of it”.
Rajendra Bhatt, Former Additional Secretary to Government of Himachal Pradesh, talked about moral duties and said that “If we are morally disable, we could never be a rich heritage”. He also discussed about Bhagavat Gita and urged the students to read it at least once. “One must have righteous approach towards life”, he added.
Chancellor Prof. PK Khosla addressed the event and said that “One should look at obstacle as a chance to grow in life and one must always have a positive approach towards the difficulties”.
Vice-chancellor Prof. Atul Khosla, while addressing the event, said that “Underneath the Constitution of India lies unimaginable possibilities to grow and rise”. He shared three stories related to constitution from his life and how it has affected him.
Earlier, the event began with a welcome address by Dr. Nandan Sharma, Dean of Law, Shoolini University. Concept note was given by Dr. Pushpanjali Sood, Associate Professor. A law student Abhishek Vasisth, spoke on the importance of the day.

A book written by Dr. Nandan Sharma was also released on the occasion.
