Shoghi–Mehli Road to Remain Partially Closed from October 21 to November 20

Shimla, October 16, 2025:

District Magistrate Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, has issued an order under Sections 115 and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, stating that due to ongoing cutting work, traffic movement on the Shoghi–Mehli road will be restricted.

The stretch from Shilgaon to the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Baragaon, will remain closed to all types of vehicles from October 21 to November 20, 2025, between 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.

However, emergency vehicles will be permitted to pass during this period. The District Magistrate has directed the executing agency to ensure all necessary safety and precautionary measures are in place to minimize inconvenience to the public.
