Shimla’s 100-Foot Tricolor to Be Relocated

Shimla, January 30, 2025: The 100-foot-high tricolor at Shimla’s Ridge Maidan will be relocated as per Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s directive. Officials from PWD and the Municipal Corporation are considering Taka Bench as the new site.
MLA Harish Janartha inspected the area with officials and emphasized the need to maintain the Ridge as a single, open ground after its renovation. The PWD will oversee the relocation, with the Municipal Corporation supervising the work.
Installed in 2015 at a cost of ₹13.55 lakh, the flag now obstructs the Ridge’s symmetry. A final decision on the new location is yet to be made.
