Shimla to Launch Smart Parking System Before Diwali

Shimla: Tourists visiting Shimla will soon be able to book parking spaces online before entering the city. The Shimla Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with Coco Park, a German company, is introducing a smart parking system. This new feature will be available before Diwali, starting with the Lift and Dhalli parking areas.

The Lift parking will have space for 700 vehicles, and Dhalli parking can accommodate 150 vehicles. If the project succeeds, it will be extended to other parking lots in Shimla. Real-time parking availability will be displayed on a large LED screen at the city’s entry point in Taradevi. Tourists can book and pay for parking via a mobile app linked to the system.

This smart parking system aims to ease the parking challenges faced by tourists during the busy seasons.
