Shimla to Host State-Level Function on June 26 to Observe International Day Against Drug Abuse

Shimla, June 25
The State-level function will be organized in Shimla on 26 June, 2025 to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu would grace the occasion as the chief guest while Health, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil would chair the event.
A Spokesperson of the Directorate for the Empowerment of Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Minorities and the Specially Abled, Himachal Pradesh (ESOMSA), informed here today that the event aims to create awareness and strengthen community efforts in eradicating the menace of drug abuse from the society. He said that the participants from panchayati raj institutions, non-governmental organizations and students from various educational institutions across the state would participate in this function.
During the ceremony, departments, districts, NGOs and individuals who have performed commendable work under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and have contributed significantly to the “Nasha Mukt Himachal, Swasth Himachal” initiative would be felicitated by the Chief Minister.
