Shimla to Host Paragliding Festival to Boost Tourism Post-Natural Disaster

Shimla, September 9 – In an effort to revive tourism business amidst the aftermath of a natural disaster, the tourism department is organizing a paragliding festival in Junga, Shimla, in collaboration with private partners. This marks the first-ever international flying festival of this kind to be held in Shimla. Through the tourism department, the festival is scheduled to take place from October 12 to 15, with participation from both domestic and foreign paragliding pilots. Various competitions will be held during the event, with winners receiving prizes and honors.
Mokshita, Customer Relationship Manager of Glide In Company, explained that this competition is being organized to attract tourists. The paragliding competition will feature pilots from the national and international levels. The entry fees for participants range from INR 5,500 to 7,000. Live demonstrations are being conducted at Ridge Maidan to showcase adventurous sports in Shimla to tourists.
The President of Shimla Hotel and Tourism Stakeholder Association mentioned that tourist arrivals in Shimla are gradually increasing. Such events are being organized to attract tourists, allowing them to explore new places in Shimla and enhance their overall experience.
Furthermore, paragliding pilots emphasized the safety of paragliding, reassuring people that it is a secure and thrilling activity that tourists can enjoy without any concerns.
