Shimla to Develop 10 Model Solar Villages

Shimla, Sept 22: Shimla district administration has decided to develop ten panchayats as model solar villages to promote clean and sustainable energy. The initiative aims to encourage maximum installation of rooftop solar panels, with a reward of ₹1 crore for the panchayat achieving the highest capacity installation. This step is part of the government’s larger vision to make Himachal Pradesh a green energy state while ensuring community participation in renewable energy adoption.
