Shimla: To ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during the winter season, including rain, snowfall, and storms, the power board in Shimla has initiated preparations. As part of these efforts, maintenance work will result in power outages in various feeders across the city from now until November 25, with disruptions scheduled daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.

The management has issued a schedule for the planned outages and has provided necessary guidelines to all Junior Engineers (J.E.) and other officials. During this period, the board will conduct line checks and trim trees adjacent to power poles to prevent branches from falling and affecting the lines during severe weather conditions. Additionally, alternative wiring will be laid in areas where prolonged outages are likely, allowing for a swift transition to secondary lines.

Power supply disruptions are specifically scheduled for November 4 and 5 in several areas:

– November 4: Affected areas include the 11 KV Strawberry feeder, Heilds New Boys Hostel feeder, Happy Child, Ankur Day, New Verma Apartment, Ayurvedic Hospital, and nearby regions.

– November 5: Disruptions will impact the 11 KV Tutu Chakkar feeder, Malyana Old Flower Del, Kamna Devi, Upper Chakkar, Forest Colony, BJP Office, and other surrounding areas.

Tanuj Gupta, City Executive Engineer, emphasized that the maintenance work is crucial before winter to ensure a stable power supply in Shimla. Consumers are urged to cooperate and will be informed about outages via social media and newspapers.
