Shimla – LPG Leak Causes Blast at Himachal Rasoi Restaurant

Shimla, August 1: A blast occurred due to an LPG leak at the Himachal Rasoi Restaurant in the Middle Bazar area of the capital on July 18.
The case was under meticulous forensic investigation, and the report revealed that the explosion happened due to a gas leak. The team of experts from the State Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Junga analyzed the incident site and did not find any explosive material used for the explosion.
SP Shimla, Sanjiv Gandhi, stated that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed by the police, which initially identified the cause of the blast as an LPG leak. Now, the forensic investigation report also confirms the same. According to the experts, the explosion occurred after the LPG cylinder leaked.
It should be noted that the explosion had caused panic in Shimla city. Initially, there were speculations linking the blast with terrorist activities, but the National Security Guard (NSG) also investigated the site and collected evidence. Currently, NSG has not disclosed the exact cause of the blast. It is important to mention that one person lost their life in this incident, and 13 others were injured.
