Shimla Law University Investigates Alleged Ragging Incident

Shimla, Sept. 01 – Shimla Law University is investigating an alleged ragging incident involving a student from Uttar Pradesh, Aviral Pandey. The incident reportedly occurred between August 29–30 near the Maraug Hostel, when Aviral was confronted by a group of senior students over a dispute related to another student. This confrontation allegedly escalated into an altercation.

Following the complaint, Baluganj Police Station registered an FIR against several senior students under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The university administration has stated that it is cooperating fully with the authorities and taking the matter seriously.

The investigation is ongoing, and appropriate action will be taken if the allegations are substantiated. University officials emphasized their commitment to ensuring a safe campus environment and maintaining strict anti-ragging measures, including counseling, disciplinary action, and potential blacklisting of students involved.
