Shimla Gears Up for Snowfall: Quick Response Team Formed, Says DC

Team to Remain Active in Shimla City Until February 28, 2025

Shimla, Dec 20, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, announced the formation of a Quick Response Team (QRT) to tackle challenges during snowfall in Shimla city. The team comprises members from the Third Battalion of the Home Guards and will remain active until February 28, 2024.

Addressing a meeting with team members, Kashyap emphasized preparedness to mitigate potential disasters during snowfall to ensure minimal inconvenience to residents. Detailed discussions were held regarding strategies and resources needed for effective snow management.

The Deputy Commissioner assured the team of prompt provision of essential tools and equipment required for disaster response. The QRT was established following a recent district meeting that highlighted the need for such a team to handle snowfall-related emergencies.

The meeting was also attended by the Additional District Magistrate (Protocol), Jyoti Rana, and other officials.
