Shimla Celebrates International Women’s Day at Gaiety Theatre

Shimla, March 8: Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap emphasized the need to support women in every possible way to ensure their progress. Speaking at the district-level International Women’s Day celebration at Gaiety Theatre, he highlighted women’s growing contributions in various fields, including traffic management and international sports.

He urged women to take the lead in combating drug abuse, stressing the importance of parental guidance. SSP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi reaffirmed efforts to eradicate drug abuse from Shimla by 2025, emphasizing women’s role in this mission.

Other speakers, including Santosh Sharma, Jyoti Rana, and Meenakshi Paul, highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment, AI training, and changing societal perspectives. Inspirational women, Anganwadi workers, and panchayats with the best gender ratios were honored during the event.
