Shimla capital town cut off from rest of world again

Shimla, Aug 12- The capital town was cut off from the rest of the world for fourth time again in this rainy seasons as Old Hindustan Tibet NH-5 now called Ambala-Shimla four lane is declared off for vehicular traffic since Friday evening by the state administration.
A statement issued by the government early on Saturday said general public is informed that Chandigarh Shimla Highway (NH 5) is closed due to landslide at Chakki Mor in Parwanoo area.
Seeking cooperation from people Administration said NHAI counting pressing heavy machinery to clearing the debris from the highway when was in progress but people may have to wait one to two days to notified the highway opens again.
Earlier last evening around 1935 hrs National Highway No.5 has been completely closed for traffic due to another landslide near Sonu Bungalow between Taradevi to Shodhi. However landslide was cleared from highway till 0100 hrs now restored.
It is not first occasion when NH-5 is closed and cut off road communication of state capital from rest of nation but since August 2 it was unfit to ply the traffic for all vehicles. Only on August 9 and 10 highway was allowed to open for emergency, defense, light vehicle, vegetable small carrier, Tourist cabs and passengers buses and unload trucks.
Earlier, this rainy season highway remained off from July 10 to July 17 also.
Union Government and previous BJP-led state government rule which left any stone unturned to claim the credit or glorifying achievement for construction of Kiratpur-Manali and Kalka-Solan four lanes in the state now facing public wrath due to criminal negligence being adopted in the construction of both highways as construction proved disaster as it completely washed away by heavy rainfall.

An FIR has filed against NHAI and a company at Police Station Parwanoo for comprising the Environment and topographic realities of the state.
National Highway Authority which virtually accepted shortcomings in the Constitution of four lanes compromising road construction SOPs for hilly terrain couldn’t recommissioned this strategic and main highway of state.
During the weekend or five days holiday about 5000 hospitality units were expecting minor increase in the footfalls of tourist but due to frequent disruption in the vehicular traffic they may have to curse their destiny again.
State hospitality sector are seeking increasing frequency of airflight between Shimla and Chandigarh and introducing special sorties of Helicopter to state capital.
Importantly, state air, railway and road communication services are also affected due to rough and inclement weather conditions.
Kalka Shimla 96 km heritage rail line which rarely affected in rough weather also have to suspended its services due to landslide and running of boulders on the track.
