Shimla Administration to Submit Rs 100 Crore Proposals Under SDRF for Disaster Mitigation

Shimla, 26 May 2025: Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap chaired a review meeting on Monday, announcing that three major proposals worth approximately Rs 100 crore will be uploaded to the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) portal for approval.

The proposals include Rs 85 crore for the channelization of stormwater drains within Shimla Municipal Corporation limits to prevent monsoon-related hazards. A second proposal of Rs 9.83 crore focuses on repairing the sinking zone between Lakkar Bazaar and Ridge Ground, including provisions for horse shelters and a rain shelter. A third proposal of Rs 12 crore covers development studies for urban and rural regions, including Rampur, Nerwa, Kufri, and Chirgaon.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized timely action to mitigate disasters through structural improvements and detailed planning.
