Shifting HPTDC Office from Shimla an Attack on Capital’s Legacy: Nanda

Shimla, July 28: BJP State Media Incharge Karan Nanda strongly criticized the government’s decision to shift the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) headquarters from Shimla to Dharamshala, calling it an unfortunate move that undermines the historic significance of the state capital.
He stated that gradually shifting offices out of Shimla is akin to erasing its glorious legacy. The new office will temporarily function from Hotel Kashmir House in Dharamshala—a property that the government had earlier considered leasing to private hands.
Nanda highlighted that this office had been operational in Shimla since 1972 with around 75 staff members, including the MD, GM, and AGM, all now relocating to Dharamshala. Only a zonal office will remain in Shimla.
