Session held on Corporate Communication at Shoolini Univ

Belletristic Literature Society of Shoolini University organised a session on “Essentials of Corporate Communication” by Pushpa Nair who holds 30 years of experience in the domain and has delivered numerous lectures on the subject.
Nair has worked with a number of Companies and Public Relations Agencies that include Ogilvy and Mather, India Today Group, Taj Group, Luxury Hotels, etc. In the course of her career as a communications specialist, she has trained numerous companies and individuals on how to communicate and worked across sectors.
She talked about effective communication, the challenges and barriers involved in corporate communication, the use of correct words, and the art of telling stories. She also emphasised upon the importance of listening properly. Nair noted that effective speakers such as Pandit Nehru and Martin Luther King could influence their audience through their own convictions and clearly putting across their ideas. She argued that the message should be clear and concise, especially in a world dominated by social media where the average attention span is of seven minutes.
The chairperson of the session was Prof Vipin Pubby, HOS of School of Journalism and New Media, and the panelists included the faculty from Chitrakoot School of Liberal Arts headed by Prof Manju Jaidka, and School of Hotel Management headed by Prof Pratip Mazumdar.

The session was attended by the students of Liberal Arts, Journalism, and Hospitality Management of Shoolini University and followed by a lively Question and Answer round in which several students and faculty members participated.
