Seminar on ‘She Leads Collective’ Held at Gaiety Theatre on Women’s Day

Shimla, March 8: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Shimla district administration organized a seminar on the theme “She Leads Collective” at Gaiety Theatre, with Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap attending as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Kashyap said that women’s leadership, confidence and collective strength play a crucial role in building a stronger society. He emphasized that when women come together and lead, positive social change accelerates, and education, technology and social participation are empowering women to become role models for the next generation.
Several speakers shared their perspectives during the seminar. Special Olympics World Winter Games medalist Harshita Thakur spoke about determination and perseverance, while DSP Gulshan Negi highlighted laws related to women’s safety. Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Santosh Sharma emphasized the importance of family values and responsible parenting.
Other speakers, including Assistant Excise Commissioner Poonam Thakur, Dr. Ravindra Banshtu, Dr. Deepa Rathore, and senior journalist Archana Phull, discussed topics ranging from women’s achievements, health awareness, and sports participation to mental health, environmental responsibility and the importance of equal opportunities for women in society.
The seminar highlighted the need for collective action, awareness and support systems to strengthen women’s leadership and empowerment in all spheres of life.
