Seminar on Disaster Dynamics in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, October 6: In the wake of recent natural disasters in Himachal Pradesh, discussions on the future outline of development and essential infrastructure have gained significant attention. On October 9, experts from across the country will gather in Shimla for a seminar organized by SDF (Students for Development) on the subject of ‘Dynamic of Disaster in Himachal Pradesh: Learning for Resilience.’
The state coordinator for the seminar, Professor Nitin Vyas, stated on Thursday that the objective of this seminar is to raise awareness among the people of the state about environmental issues and to present a unified framework for dealing with both human-made and natural disasters.
Nitin Vyas explained that the seminar aims to create a cohesive roadmap for addressing environmental issues and coping with human-made and natural disasters in the region.
He further informed that Professor Heeralal Muralidhar Suryavanshi, Director of NIT Hamirpur, will be the chief guest, and Aashish Chauhan, the National Organization Secretary of the All India Students’ Council, will be the special guest of honor for this seminar. Dr. Devdatt Sharma, former Vice-Chancellor of HPU, will also be honored as a special guest. The seminar will feature two technical sessions, and the recommendations from the seminar will be presented to the state government as policy recommendations after the event.
