“Self-reliant India in Ideas: Towards Swarajya”

Shimla: A three-day National Integration Conference organized at Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) through Cisco Webex from 18th June to 20th June 2021, on “Self-reliant India in Ideas: Towards Swarajya”, concluded with a valedictory session. Session has been chaired by the Director of IIAS Prof. Makarand R. Paranjape. He welcomed all the guests connected through Cisco Webex and gave a brief introduction about Prof. S.R. Bhatt, Chairman Indian Philosophy Congress and Shri Tarun Vijay, Chairman National Monuments Authority.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Paranjape shared his personal experiences while talking about Swarajya and said in “Swarajya”, we should focus on “Swa” instead of “Raj”. Discovery of “Swa” is the identification of our civilization. If we become self-illuminated by self-discovery, we can illuminate the whole world. It’s our tradition.
Prof. S.R. Bhatt shared his idea about Atmnirbhar Bharat and said that we are facing culture subjugation. India has noble and sublime ideas and ideals that Indian culture attracted scholars from all over the world. And they found it something to be worth for pursuing and practicing.

Shri Tarun Vijay discussed about colonization in his address and said that we are still a colonized people. We have still a colonized governance system. In judiciary, in bureaucracy, in police everywhere we see the signature of colonized mind.
The session has been ended with vote of thanks by Prof. Rajvir Sharma, convener of the three days Conference.
Dr. Alka Tyagi, Dr. Anjali Duhan, Prof. Shahsiprabha Kumar, Dr. Anuradha, Dr. Balram Shukla, Dr. Ratan Sharda, Dr. Amit Mishra, Dr. Madhu Mangal Chaturvedi, Dr. Adil, Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, Dr. Sumnadeep Kaur, Dr, Madhav Hada etc. prominent scholars participaqted in the discussion.
