“Sardar Patel University it’s not university but college” CM
1 min readShimla, September 4: Since the formation of the Sukhvinder government in Himachal Pradesh, the opposition has continuously targeted the government over the closure of institutions. The recent opening of Sardar Patel University in Mandi has heated up the state’s political atmosphere. Opposition leaders have criticized the government for reducing the university’s scope. They have also accused the government of discrimination.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh responded to questions about reducing the university’s scope by saying that the BJP, for political gain before the elections, opened this university without adequate facilities. In reality, it’s not a university but a college. The government has not decided to close the university, but it has reduced its scope. As soon as other facilities are provided, the government will expand the university’s operations. The Chief Minister has decided to hold meetings with officials every Monday. Today, on the third Monday, the Chief Minister held a meeting with officials and issued necessary directives for disaster management.
He said that the government has worked on the ground to open roads in Himachal Pradesh without central assistance. If assistance is required, they will go to Delhi to meet the Prime Minister or the Home Minister. The state is burdened with increasing debts due to the aftermath of disasters. Despite this, the government will put Himachal Pradesh’s economy back on track in four years and bring the state to a better position in ten years.
