Sanjauli Protest Management Failure: Kashyap Criticizes Government
1 min readShimla: Former BJP state president Suresh Kashyap criticized the Himachal Pradesh government for its handling of the Sanjauli protest regarding alleged illegal mosque construction. Speaking during the BJP’s membership drive in Shimla, Kashyap condemned the government’s failure to manage the situation effectively, noting that the administration should have declared a holiday for schools to prevent disruptions.
He denounced the police’s use of force, including baton charges and water cannons, which he claimed caused unnecessary harm to innocent people, including a woman who was struck while trying to go home. Kashyap also pointed out the inconvenience caused to local shopkeepers and criticized the government’s response to the ongoing mosque controversy in Mandi, where similar protests have erupted.
Kashyap urged the government to address the issue seriously and take decisive action against illegal constructions, emphasizing that a state-wide atmosphere of unrest demands immediate attention rather than complacency.
