RS Bali inaugurated 2-day DLF-2023
4 min readDharamshala, Apr 8 – Literature, art and writing keep the society in the thread of unity. Due to this, where on one hand a person is able to express his thoughts effectively, on the other hand, civilization and culture also gets enriched.
Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and MLA of Nagrota Bagwan assembly constituency Raghubir Singh Bali said this during the inaugural session of the second edition of Dharamshala Literature Festival at the auditorium of Dharamshala Degree College as the chief guest. Former minister Viplav Thakur was also specially present on this occasion.
RS Bali appreciated the initiative taken by the district administration to start the Literature Festival in Dharamshala and congratulated it for its organization. Seeing its significance, he announced a grant of five lakh rupees from the Tourism Development Corporation for the Dharamshala Literary Festival.
RS Bali said that the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is making serious efforts to develop tourism, art and literary environment in the state.
He said that through such literature festivals, people from different fields and ideas keep their point. He said that an aware society is created by the exchange of ideas through such events.
RS Bali instructed the district administration to link the government educational institutions of the area with the literature festival. He said that the children of our area should also get a chance to shine through this. He said that today the inspiring people sitting on the highest positions in the country and the state have come out of government schools and colleges. He said that students studying in government educational institutions should also move forward in literature, art and writing, for this they should be associated with such events. He said that if children get such platforms during their schooling itself, then their talent will flourish.
A discussion titled ‘Wonderland Calling’ was organized in the Literature Festival. In this discussion, the panellists expressed their views regarding the activities related to tourism and hotel industry and their environment-friendly operations. Meanwhile, RS Bali said that concrete steps are being taken by the state government to promote tourism.
He said that it is his endeavor to strengthen the condition of the hotels run by the Tourism Corporation in the state. He said that Bhoti Dham would be started in restaurants to serve Himachali Dham in the hotels run by the tourism department. He said that for the first time in the budget, the government has made a provision of five hundred crore rupees for tourism in order to develop tourism infrastructure. He said that apart from this, projects worth Rs 1311 crore are being started in the state with the help of ADB for tourism.
He said that the Sukhu government in its very first budget has made a provision of Rs 2,000 crore for the expansion of Kangra airport to boost tourism in the state. He said that the work in this direction will also be increased at a fast pace. He said that apart from this, serious efforts are being implemented to fulfill the Chief Minister’s resolve to make district Kangra the tourism capital. He said that a large number of such events can be organized in Dharamshala with development from tourism point of view. He said that along with tourism, literature, art and related activities will also increase.
Live Kangra painting was also organized by the district administration in the literature festival. During this, other guests including RS Bali and former minister Viplav Thakur tried their hand at Kangra painting.
Earlier, the chief guest flagged off a motor bike rally taken out from Dharamshala to Bir by the Veteran Army jawans. This bike rally was organized with a view to make people aware of literature, art, patriotism and environment.
Deputy Commissioner Kangra Dr. Nipun Jindal welcomed the guests and told about Dharamshala Literature Festival. He said that district Kangra is not only natural but also artistic and literary. He said that this literature festival was started with a view to bring to the fore a beautiful tradition of art and literature that has been flourishing in Dhauladhar region for a long time.
He said that this literature festival has given a new identity to the local art and literary style, while the beauty of Dharamshala has increased further with the different colors of literature and art.
He said that there will be coordination of entertainment, inspiration and education in the event.
Workshops on Creative Writing, Photography, Live Kangra Painting by renowned artists was also be organized. Apart from discussion sessions, theater play, Kavi Sammelan and writing workshop was organized.
SP Kangra Shalini Agnihotri, Additional Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Jassal, SDM Dharamshala Shilpi Bekta, Assistant Commissioner Subhash Gautam, writers, litterateurs, artists and participants of the Literature Festival were present.
