Shimla, August 2, 2025 – The Sampoornata Abhiyan Felicitation Ceremony for the Aspirational Development Blocks of Chauhara and Kupvi was organized today at the historic Padamdev Complex, Ridge, Shimla. Harish Janartha, MLA, Shimla Urban, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Harish Janartha highlighted the remarkable progress in Chauhara and Kupvi blocks through the combined efforts of the government, administration, and local communities. He stated that NITI Aayog has recorded significant improvement in three key indicators for these blocks, a testament to collaborative development. He expressed confidence that soon these blocks would overcome all parameters and graduate out of the Aspirational category.
He emphasized that the demand for local products is rising, providing self-employment opportunities to rural women and reviving traditional crafts. Under the Him-Ira brand, self-help groups (SHGs) have been unified to promote Himachali products globally. Strengthening the rural economy remains a primary goal of the state government, he added.
During the event, officials and field workers excelling in developmental activities in Chauhara and Kupvi were felicitated.
As part of the program, SHGs set up an Aakansha Haat Exhibition, showcasing local organic and handmade products, which will remain open to locals and tourists till August 8, 2025.
