Rotaract Club, HPNLU, Shimla Organizes Trekking Event “High on Hills, Not on Drugs” to Promote Healthy, Drug-Free Lifestyle

09. 04.2025 Shimla, H.P. – In an initiative to promote wellness, fitness, and a drug-free lifestyle, the Rotaract Club of HPNLU, Shimla, under the aegis of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU, Shimla, organized a successful trekking event titled “High on Hills, Not on Drugs” from Marhog to Dhami, Shimla. The event aimed to inspire students and participants to embrace adventure, physical well-being, and mindfulness while raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
The event, held amidst the scenic beauty of the Shimla hills, brought together students and volunteers from across the university to foster a collective effort for spreading the message of a healthy lifestyle. The theme of the event, “Choose fitness, not addiction,” resonated strongly with the participants, inspiring them to make conscious choices for their physical and mental well-being.
The trekking journey from Marhog to Dhami was an opportunity for the participants to immerse themselves in nature and reflect on the significance of fitness and mindfulness in daily life. The initiative also aimed at engaging students in physical activity, encouraging them to adopt healthier habits and say no to substance abuse.
The event witnessed participation from students and Rotaract Club members, including President Ritik Jinata, Secretary Sonia Singh Rana, and Project Head Rajat Chaudhary, Stanzin, Abhay, Fuzail, Nipun, Harsh Raj, Niharika, Hia Sanmati, Annanya, Shreya, and Prashansa. The event was organized by Dr. Hari Chand, the Coordinator of the Rotaract Club at HPNLU, Shimla.
