Rising Jaundice Cases in Mandi: Jai Ram Thakur Urges Government to Take Action
1 min readShimla: Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition, Jai Ram Thakur, has criticized the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led government for its failure to address the increasing jaundice outbreak in the state, particularly in Mandi district. Thakur highlighted the alarming situation in Joginder Nagar, where hundreds of people are being hospitalized daily, with six fatalities reported so far, four of whom were residents of Joginder Nagar. He accused the government of negligence, stating that the spread of the disease is a direct result of poor water quality and the lack of timely preventive measures.
Thakur further demanded that the government take immediate and effective steps to control the outbreak and provide the best possible treatment to the infected. He also called for accountability from the government and related departments, urging them to prioritize public health and disaster relief over what he described as “anti-people policies.”
