1 min read

Solan, June 26, 2025
To ensure public safety during the monsoon season, Solan District Magistrate Manmohan Sharma has issued strict orders prohibiting all unauthorized tourism and commercial activities near rivers, streams, and water bodies.

Exercising powers under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the order bans access to the banks and surrounding areas of Ashwani Khadd and the Shani Temple near Giripul in revenue village Ser Banera, Tehsil Solan. Bathing in the rivers, picnicking, or organizing any activities along these water bodies is strictly forbidden.

The district administration cited the danger of sudden water level surges during heavy rains, which pose life-threatening risks, especially to unaware tourists.

Local police will work in close coordination with the District Tourism Officer to enforce the ban effectively. These orders come into immediate effect and will remain valid for the next two months. Violators will face legal action as per law.
