RD Dhiman to be new CIC post retirement

Shimla, Dec 27 – Himachal Chief Secretary RD Dhiman was appointed as the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) by the government after retirement from the post of Chief Secretary on December 31, 2022.
The post of CIC in the state is lying vacant after the retirement of former CIC Narendra Chauhan on June 30. RD Dhiman is retiring on December 31. In the second week of June, the Jairam government had invited applications for the post of CIC. Then more than 51 claimants applied.
The former government appointed S SS Guleria as Information Commissioner in the meeting of the High-Power Committee on June 25, but the Chief Minister postponed the appointment of the CIC. It was after seven months that state got panel of two members Information Commission.
