Solan, September 14: Reserve Bank of India Governor Sanjay Malhotra emphasized that effective cooperation between banks and consumers is essential to achieve complete financial inclusion. He was addressing the Financial Inclusion Saturation Program organized by Punjab National Bank in Solan. Malhotra highlighted that financial literacy and inclusion go hand-in-hand, urging citizens to update their re-KYC and enroll in social security schemes like PMJJBY, PMSBY, and Atal Pension Yojana. He noted that India now has nearly 2.5 billion bank accounts, with over 55 crore Jan Dhan accounts, of which 11 crore have been re-verified. In Himachal Pradesh, 2,361 camps have been held, re-KYC of 25,000 consumers in Solan alone. He cautioned people against digital frauds and advised never to share OTPs, passwords, or banking details. Beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana were also handed claim cheques, and women self-help groups showcased their products at the event.
