2 min readMandi, January 17: Government depots in Himachal Pradesh have been unable to distribute ration to consumers for the past three days due to server issues. The disruption caused by the server down situation has left consumers empty-handed when visiting these depots. Consumers are expressing their frustration over the department’s operational procedures.
Consumers state that despite visiting the depots continuously for three days, they have not received ration, and the officials cite server down as the reason for not providing essential supplies. Distressed consumers are urging the government to expedite the resolution of server issues so that they do not face inconvenience.
Additionally, consumers have requested the government to consider implementing provisions for offline ration distribution in case of any glitches in the online system. They emphasize the importance of having a backup plan to ensure that consumers do not suffer due to technical issues.
In response to the situation, Pawan Sharma, the District Controller of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs in Mandi, mentioned that efforts are underway to resolve the server down issue. He assured that services would be restored soon to ensure the timely distribution of ration to consumers.
The ration distribution system in Himachal Pradesh relies on online processes, with machines installed in every depot for fingerprint scanning linked to Aadhar cards. However, with the Aadhar card server down, the system faces challenges, leading to disruptions in the distribution process.
