1 min read

Hamirpur, July 27 – A Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding School is being constructed at Karha village in Bhota sub-division of Hamirpur district with an estimated cost of ₹50 crore. In the first phase, a primary wing worth ₹9.23 crore is being developed, aiming to provide state-of-the-art facilities to students of Bhorañj constituency.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, hailing from a humble background, has envisioned these schools to empower children from common families studying in government schools. These institutions, part of the state’s flagship initiative, are being built in around 15 constituencies to ensure that government school students can compete on equal footing with those from elite private institutions.

Spanning 102 kanals, the Karha school campus will include modern classrooms, international-standard sports grounds, NCC and cultural activity infrastructure, and other educational amenities. The primary wing is targeted for completion within a year.

These schools are set to become milestones in the journey of providing equitable, quality education to underprivileged students across Himachal Pradesh.
