1 min readShimla, September 27, 2024 – BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal voiced strong opposition to the government’s decision to develop a portion of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University, Palampur, for tourism purposes. Dr. Bindal expressed that the people of Himachal Pradesh are against this move, emphasizing that the university plays a crucial role in shaping the future of farmers and training agricultural scientists. He questioned why, despite having other sites for tourism, the government insists on using this land, even as internal disagreements within the government emerge. Agricultural Minister himself has opposed the idea of using the university’s land for tourism. Bindal also criticized the government for its contradictory stances, citing recent U-turns on policies like the Uttar Pradesh model for street vendors.
