1 min read

Shimla, August 2, 2025 – BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal has strongly criticized the Himachal Pradesh Congress Government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for allegedly harassing and suppressing media voices that raise public interest issues. Bindal accused the government of filing false cases against journalists to stifle free speech.

Referring to the recent FIR against Sanjeev Sharma of Samvad Bharat and Punjab Kesari, Bindal termed it an “unprecedented and condemnable attack on media freedom.” He stated that during the past two and a half years, the Sukhu government has targeted several journalists through legal harassment for exposing government failures.

Bindal asserted that media is an essential pillar of democracy, and suppressing its voice will not hide the injustices and failures of the Congress regime in Himachal Pradesh. The BJP condemned the government’s actions in the strongest terms and vowed to stand with the media against such oppressive tactics.
