Shahpur, March 3: Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Keval Singh Pathania personally inspected various ongoing development works in the constituency, walking nearly 2 to 3 kilometres to assess the actual condition of roads. Officials and departmental representatives accompanied him during the field visit.
During the inspection, the MLA interacted with local landowners to ensure adequate road width in under-construction stretches and sought their cooperation in resolving land-related issues in public interest. He informed that pending land matters have now been amicably settled.
Among the major works reviewed were NABARD-funded projects worth approximately ₹15 crore, including the ₹3.72 crore Dhanotu via Bad Basti road (3.64 km) and the ₹11 crore Dadhamb–Laleta–Tundu–Vanu Mahadev road. He also assessed the construction of the Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School building in Rait being built at a cost of ₹5 crore, and the Rait Block Development Office building costing ₹5.36 crore.
Pathania directed departments to ensure strict quality control in construction and specifically instructed that proper water drainage systems be incorporated in road projects to prevent future damage.
He stated that the Block Office building at Rait, which earlier lacked its own land and had seen no concrete initiative in the past, is now nearly 70 percent complete and is expected to be ready within the next four months.
