Ragging Incident Six Senior Students Face Action

Nerchowk, Himachal Pradesh: A case of ragging has come to light at Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College, located in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. In response to this incident, the college administration has taken action against six senior students accused of ragging. They have been expelled from the hostel for six months and barred from participating in academic activities for three months. Additionally, a fine of 25,000 rupees has been imposed on the accused students.

According to the information available, the incident of ragging took place on Friday when some of the new MBBS students at the medical college were allegedly subjected to ragging by senior students. The college administration’s anti-ragging committee conducted an investigation into the matter and concluded that some students were indeed involved in ragging. As a result, the six senior students have been expelled from the hostel for six months and are prohibited from participating in the academic session for three months. They have also been fined 25,000 rupees each.

The Principal of Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College, Dr. DK Verma, stated that an anti-ragging committee meeting was held on Saturday to address the issue. After a thorough investigation, the committee found that some students were involved in ragging, and disciplinary action was recommended against the guilty students. A warning has been issued to all students that strict action will be taken against anyone found involved in ragging, and they may face expulsion from the college as well.
