Public holiday on August 10 for Panchayat bye-elections
1 min readShimla, Aug 03- Public holiday has been declared on 10th August, in the areas of various Panchayati Raj Institutions of Himachal Pradesh where polling would be held for the vacant posts.
As per the notification issued regarding Panchayati bye election, in case poll is held for the vacant posts in Panchayati Raj Institutions, then all government offices, offices of public undertakings, educational institutions and industrial establishments falling under the constituencies of the said Panchayati Raj Institutions would remain closed on 10th August.
There will also be a paid holiday for the daily wage workers on the day of polling, under Section-25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act-1881. The employees working outside their Panchayats can also avail leave for the voting but they will have to produce the certificate from the concerned Presiding Officer.
