Public Gatherings and Protests Prohibited at 10 Designated Locations in Shimla
1 min readShimla, December 2, 2024 – To maintain public order, District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap has invoked powers under Section 6 of the Punjab State Security Act, 1953, to impose a ban on public meetings, protests, rallies, and processions at ten designated locations across Shimla. This order includes key areas such as Chhota Shimla to Ridge and Kennedy House, Rendezvous Restaurant to Rivoli Cinema, Scandal Point to Kali Bari Temple, and others.
The order also prohibits the carrying of objects that could be used as weapons. However, police, paramilitary, and military personnel performing their duties are exempt from this restriction.
This directive is effective immediately and will remain in force for the next two months. Any gatherings at the specified locations will require prior permission from the competent authority, and violations will be punishable by law.
