Private Company Scams Chamba Residents with Fake RD Scheme Promises

In Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district, a private company has allegedly defrauded local residents by luring them into a fake RD (Recurring Deposit) scheme. People were promised rewards like LED TVs, washing machines, and kitchen combo packs in exchange for monthly deposits of ₹1,000 over 13 months.

However, even after 16 months, neither the promised items nor refunds have been provided. Victims like Panku, Ramesh, and Kartik revealed that company officials are now unreachable, and no office exists in the area. Phone calls to the company’s MD are being disconnected.

The victims have not yet lodged a police complaint but are warning fellow residents not to fall for such fraudulent schemes in the future. The scam appears to have been executed without any fixed infrastructure, with agents operating on the move.
